At the turn of the 21st Century, local financial consultant Charles Bohoskey challenged the Yakima Valley Museum and the Yakima Symphony Orchestra to develop a casual evening program that would unite the skills of the two organizations.
The result was Drawing Room Diversions, which combined historical and cultural information provided by the Museum with a variety of related classical and popular music selected by the Symphony. Each cabaret-style evening included dinner and beverages, followed by a musical program.
The Museum and Symphony have come up with some exciting new offerings for the 2012 Diversions season. Maestro Lawrence Golan, the Helen N. Jewett Music Director of the Yakima Symphony Orchestra, and Museum Director John Baule are partnering again to combine history and music in the museum's amazing Neon Garden.
We are pleased to announce the 2012 schedule and look forward to welcoming you to our 13th season.
